Добрый день. Хотелось бы получить совет по следующей проблеме. Я работаю в экономическом вузе, второй год. Первый год преподавала только у заочников, с этого года буду и на очном . Немного волнуюсь. Один из вопросов, как провести свой первый урок, чтобы «не было мучительно больно…», чтобы у студентов появилось желание прийти еще раз (большинство из них не испытывает восторга от «инглиша). Не начинать же сразу читать эконом тексты. Как с ними познакомиться? В какой форме представить свои требования? Поделитесь, пожалуйста, опытом и советами. Thank you in advance.

i guess it all depends on what kind of person u r - i've always felt like the students r no different from me and they somehow sense it

as for the beginning - i try to start with simple talking (in english,of course, unless they beginners, which isnt the case here as u write about reading texts) - about life/me and them/ask them if they see any point in studying english (if no - why) etc.

In fact, i do believe that it's absolutely impossible 2 advise on such things - u r what u r and ur students the same and ur college/whatever/
the point is 2 enjoy what u r doing and 2 try 2 make those involved enjoy it as well - there's no sense in wasting several hours a week staying inside and doing what bores u 2 death,right? (sometimes that's exactly what i talk about with my 'newbies'-and we usually come 2 a unilateral:)) decision 2 try 2 have as much fun out of the time we HAVE TO spend together as possible)
